Classical Music On Pan
Since the emergence of pan as a tuned melodic instrument in the mid-1940s, pannists have arranged and performed the great classics of European art music on their instruments.
Rachel has followed this tradition, performing her first classical solos while at still at school. She is now regarded to be one of the world's top performers of classical music on steelpan. Her repertoire ranges from Bach, Dowland and Marais to Delibes, Beethoven and Debussy. She also plays purely acoustic pop and jazz inspired arrangements which she performs using her unique four-stick technique, with which she won the UK National Soloists Competition, and placed fourth in the World Soloists Championships in Trinidad and Tobago. Her new cd "Priestess of Pan" showcases her ability and is available to buy here. Rachel can perform selections of her classical and acoustic repertoire at your function or event, but advance notice is required, as additional instruments (the double tenors) are required.
